On a cold January day, me and a mate where pruning fruit trees for one of my customers when a Robin quite happily landed in the tree we where working on.

The Robin was not at all worried about having two strange looking men on step ladders, clanking around with sharp looking weapons (secateurs before anyone asks). In fact, he or she nonchalantly hopped and flew around the tree, before landing in between us for a photo shoot.

As all gardeners know and have witnessed, the Robin can be a very tame bird that often joins us around the garden seeing what goodies we stir up.

They are nearly always happy to see us and us them – even when they shit on your spade handle and you don’t see it until it’s too late!
